The BYD SEAL U DM-i features a Super Dual Mode powertrain, but what does that mean? It means the car can be powered in two ways. When the battery is charged, the car runs purely on electricity. When the battery runs low, the gasoline engine automatically kicks in to extend the range. The gasoline engine acts as a generator, recharging the battery while the wheels are still driven by the electric motor.
This allows the SEAL U DM-i to stand out with low fuel consumption, maximum efficiency, and power, combined with smooth and comfortable driving. The ‘i’ in DM-i stands for “intelligence,” referring to all the intelligent technologies that contribute to the overall package of this powertrain.
